How do I check if a car has a recall?
Browse campaigns by make, model and year for general records. For a specific vehicle, enter its VIN at NHTSA and confirm applicability and repair status with the manufacturer or dealer. A model-year list cannot establish which recalls remain open for that VIN.
Are recall repairs free?
Manufacturers generally provide remedies for eligible safety recalls at no charge. Confirm VIN coverage, remedy availability and any age or other eligibility limits with the manufacturer or an authorized dealer.
