Disclaimers
Please read these before relying on anything you see here. VinSleuth is an information tool built on third-party government data.
Data accuracy
VinSleuth shows official NHTSA data (vehicle specs, recalls, complaints, crash ratings). We are not affiliated with NHTSA or any manufacturer. Data can lag or contain errors — always confirm an open recall with the manufacturer or a dealer before relying on it.
Recalls are safety information
A recall means the manufacturer or NHTSA found a safety defect. Recall repairs are free at any franchise dealer. This page lists recalls reported to NHTSA for this make/model/year — it is not a VIN-specific recall status. Confirm whether a specific VIN's recall is still open with the manufacturer or at nhtsa.gov.
What we don't provide
VinSleuth does not sell or report accident history, title brands (salvage/flood), or odometer/mileage records — that data comes from NMVTIS and paid providers, and we don't have it. We won't pretend to. If you need it, we link you to a paid history report.
Not professional advice
VinSleuth does not provide mechanical, legal, financial, or insurance advice, and nothing here is a substitute for a professional pre-purchase inspection. Decisions about buying, selling, driving, or repairing a vehicle are yours; consult a qualified mechanic, the manufacturer, or the relevant authority.
No affiliation
VinSleuth is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NHTSA, the U.S. government, Carfax, Bumper, AutoCheck, or any vehicle manufacturer. Product and company names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
